I developed a passion for electronics at the age of 11, when I built my first AM receiver using two transistors. I could barely see over the counter at my trusted electronics shop back then!

After a few years of CB activity, I earned my amateur radio license in 1995 and installed my first dual-band VHF/UHF transceiver in the car. Over time, my presence on the airwaves has seen ups and downs - periods of long inactivity followed by renewed interest, mostly on the 2-meter and 70-centimeter bands.

Recently, I returned to active operation with an IC-7100, this time focusing primarily on HF, a part of the spectrum that has always fascinated me.
My station is fixed and located at my home QTH.

I enjoy homebrewing equipment and am currently experimenting with both monoband and multiband antennas.
Although I’ve been a licensed HAM for many years, I still consider myself a newbie in the amateur radio world. Each QSO is still a special and exciting experience for me.
I listen 100 and speak 1 - because I truly believe there’s always something new to learn.

Operating Preferences

At the moment, I’m not particularly drawn to digital modes. Instead, I’m interested in learning CW, which I find to be a timeless and fascinating way to communicate.
I see it not only as a skill, but also as a way to connect more deeply with the heritage and spirit of amateur radio.

Outdoor & Portable Activities

I’m also passionate about the mountains and regularly practice alpinism and mountaineering. Whenever possible, I combine my outdoor activities with portable operations.
My current handheld/portable equipment lineup includes:

1 Kenwood TM-733 for /M (with mars/cap mod)
1 Xiegu X6100 for /QRP (with v0.31.2 Gdyuldin firmware)
1 USDR+ Red Corners for /QRP (with 4.4 firmware)
1 (tr)uSDX for /QRP (With 2.00x Beta firmware)
1 Quansheng UV-K5 (with IJV V3 firmware)
2 Baofeng UV-5R
2 Kenwood TH-78
1 Kenwood TH-22

These radios accompany me on hikes and climbs, offering both safety and the joy of making QSOs from the great outdoors.

I have also started taking part in POTA, SOTA and WXM activations, which perfectly combine my passion for QRP radio with my love for nature and the mountains.
